Beyond Bars Program
When former class members leave prison, Truth Be Told founders want to know if the things they've done in the programs are helping them with life outside the prison. Through the program called Beyond Bars we attempt to track their progress and offer them support in the following ways:
- Class members give the most reliable address where they can be reached on the outside.
- They are given Truth Be Told address and number and encouraged to get in touch as soon as possible.
- Truth Be Told offers a yearly reunion and helps former inmates with transportation costs.
- An incentive plan is in the works, based on creative rewards for staying in touch.
The Beyond Bars Program involves handling correspondence, conversing on the telephone, networking, and gathering information about resources. To find out about volunteering to help administer this program, go to Be Involved.
