Volunteer To Change Lives
At Truth Be Told, we believe that everyone has the power to make a difference in the world. As a volunteer, you can be that change for justice-involved women who often feel isolated and alone. By giving your time and skills, you can help provide them with the tools they need to transform their lives. There are many ways to volunteer with us, including facilitating virtual programming, supporting our correspondence-based program “Write To Me,” and leading creative workshops in our monthly Exploring Creativity Program. You can also volunteer to make Truth Bracelets or 3-year Anniversary Quilts for our graduates. By volunteering with Truth Be Told, you’ll not only have a chance to impact the lives of others but also gain new skills, be part of a supportive community, and make a lasting difference. Volunteer Application
Truth Be Told is seeking volunteers dedicated to our mission and values, preferably with experience in group leadership, restorative justice, and trauma-informed work. Volunteers will be expected to demonstrate professionalism, maintain boundaries, practice active listening, and respect confidentiality. We are also requesting a minimum commitment of 1 year. The volunteer process involves training preparation, facilitation responsibilities, and close collaboration with our team and facility contacts. To learn more and apply please visit the link below.
Ways to volunteer
- Fundraising Event Support for our December 2023 event, our first fundraiser since covid.
- We are seeking silent auction items.
- Set up and clean up
- Welcome committee to greet our guests and support them in finding their tables.
- Let us know how you would like to support.
- Support the correspondence-based program Write To Me by giving feedback on written activities
- Train and then facilitate weekly programming inside prisons
- Visit in-person programming once as a “respectful witness”
- Volunteer to make Truth Bracelets or 3-year Anniversary Quilts for graduates.
- Connect us with corporate organizations so that we can grow our funds to support our future goal to add housing for women being released from prison.
