On the final night of the $10,000 — no, wait $20,000 — no, wait — $30,000 in 10 Days storytelling campaign with only 2 hours to midnight, we at Truth Be Told met and surpassed our $30,000 fundraising goal.
With $30,000 in matching funds from a circle of angels, to include Bobby and Peggy Miser of Houston, this campaign generated $61,920 to support the healing programs and safe community Truth Be Told offers justice-involved women in five correctional facilities in Central Texas and out here in the community. (And financial gifts continue to arrive in the days following the campaign!)
What this proves beyond a doubt is that when our graduates tell their TRUTH, they can inspire a community to RISE.
This influx of financial support will help us as we build our capacity to bring healing programs and safe community to more justice-involved women. We will be sure to keep you posted along the way, so you can see the change in the world that YOU are making possible.
On behalf of Anna, Laurie, Courtney, Kimberly, Evelyn, Lori, Lauren, Margie, Rutanya and Dara — thank you for showing our graduates that their voices have been heard.
Gratefully,

PS: A fun fact to share with our community — This campaign inspired Piper Kerman, author of the memoir, “Orange is the New Black,” to become a Truth Be Told donor. Thank you, Piper! We are thrilled to have your support!
